ACT tutor

Making learning fun

Professor Tradewell

ACT Tutoring was founded in 2009. A one-on-one tutoring service that I take pride in offering to students of all grade levels and all subjects. While my strengths and specialties are in writing; reading; and communication, I stand firm in being able to tutor students in other subjects as well as test prep and high school/college prep.

Currently I am a seventh and eighth grade teacher at a local elementary school in Pennsylvania. I teach both ELA (English Language Arts). I will be going into my tenth year at this school.  Before teaching here, I taught for a year in a public school an hour away from my house. I decided not to continue working for that particular school because of the distance. At the public school I taught seventh grade ILA. Prior to teaching at this public school, I taught ninth and twelfth grade English Literature for a year at a local high school. This long-term substitute position was for half the school year and I was sad to leave my seniors and freshmen.

For the past two years I have worked for Educate Online, a hybrid tutoring company, as a Math and English tutor as well as a higher education tutor in English and Writing.

Recently I have been hired to work with Team Tutor where I tutor all grade levels in English and Math to students in the Montgomery County area.

I am a graduate of Elizabethtown College with a dual degree in Communications concentration in Mass Media and English Literature. After graduation I went to Delaware Valley College and graduated their Teacher Certification Internship Program in the top of my class with excellent recommendations from the professors, fellow teachers, and the state! In 2007, I finished my first Master's in Educational Leadership and received a Principal certification from Delaware Valley College. In 2013 I finished at Penn State University with a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instructions and a Reading Specialist Certification. This past year I finished the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's Elementary Administrators Program and am currently working on my Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership at Immaculata University.

I have taught all age groups and have been tutoring since high school. I am flexible with my hours and I am willing to work with all kinds of students. I have background with special education students as well as regular education students.

I can also teach elective classes such as; Newspaper, Dance, Drama, Music, Art. and some language.

Over the past ten years I have worked with the cheerleading squad, the newspaper, and have held bi-weekly Writing Workshops for my students. Over the last year, I have co-taught a homework help club for all the students in the middle school. I have also mentored four teachers at my school.

I enjoy working and teaching and would love to help anyone anyway I can! Please feel free to check out my resume/Curriculum Vitae and the rest of the site and contact me if you would like to sign up for tutoring classes.
